2020 Women Business Owner of the Year Finalist

San Francisco, CA — The National Association of Women Business Owners announced three finalists for its 2020 Woman Business Owner of the Year during a virtual celebration on September 23rd. The finalists, Ranee Cress Wright, owner of Drillmax, Inc., Rebecca Fyffe, Founder, CEO and Director of Research of Landmark Pest Management, and Nooshin Behroyan Founder and CEO of Paxon Energy & Infrastructure Services, represent NAWBO chapters across the country from Texas to Illinois to California. Congratulations to Illinois’ Rebecca Fyffe who took home the honor as NAWBO’s 2020 Woman Business Owner of the Year.

“This year’s finalists are excellent examples of how women are breaking barriers in traditionally male-dominated fields and surpassing their male counterparts through innovation and expertise,” commented National Association of Women Business Owners California (NAWBO-CA) president Vikita Poindexter, CEO of the human resources firm Poindexter Consulting Group. “To see Nooshin, a California-based woman business owner, among the finalists demonstrates the caliber of women-owned businesses in our great state, which ranks #1 nationally in the number of woman-owned firms.” Poindexter noted that in 2019 NAWBO Los Angeles member Gail Becker, Founder of CAULIPOWER took home the prestigious NAWBO Woman Business Owner of the Year award.

In three short years Nooshin Behroyan, who is also president of the NAWBO San Francisco Bay Area chapter (NAWBO-SFBA), has grown Paxon into the Top 10 Fastest Growing Companies of America (Inc. Magazine) and Top 100 Bay Area Women Owned Businesses (SF Business Times). She was also named NAWBO-CA’s Woman Business Owner of the Year this past spring. The company’s focus on energy–innovative approaches that emphasize technologies for energy-efficient solutions is paving the way for clean and safe energy across the nation. Nooshin is a leader dedicated to improving the safety of oil and gas pipelines in the US and Canada, actively promoting gender diversity and work-force equality by addressing barriers and driving positive change for women engineers and veterans. In 2019, Paxon was honored by Corporate Visions with the Energy Innovator Award as the Best Woman Run Oil & Gas Services firm in the U.S.

“I’m honored to be among the finalists recognized nationally by NAWBO,” said Nooshin Behroyan, Founder and CEO of Paxon Energy & Infrastructure. “And I’m particularly pleased to see that all three finalists are not just making in-roads, but we’re leading the way in STEM related industries. It’s important for young girls growing up to see successful women successfully operating in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
