Welding Inspector

POSITION SUMMARY :

 

We are currently seeking a Welding Inspector for natural gas and electric utility projects in Northern California.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

 

This position requires thorough knowledge of all construction activities, means and methods and to ensure projects are completed in accordance with all applicable requirements, including but not limited to standards, engineering design, regulatory guidelines, permits and schedules. Candidates should be self-starting and highly motivated, with the capability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The best candidates will be detailed and organized team players with demonstrated delivery in high pressure situations.

 

This is a project-based position focused on providing the client with the most versatile and highly motivated inspectors and contractor safety coaching for the natural gas and oil industry. As a field  inspector, you will engage with client and contractor team members in the field to facilitate safe work practices, timely and accurate paperwork, client safety culture expectations, and maintain compliance with the client’s Contractor Safety Program elements and other applicable safety regulations (e.g., Cal/OSHA).

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Required:

  • Five (5) years of welding inspection or welding experience with a minimum of three (3) years pipe welding inspection experience
  • API 1169 Certification
  • AWS CWI Certification
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with API 1104 and ASME B31.8

 

Duties:

  • Ensures correct welding specification usage
  • Perform visual inspection of weld process
  • Obtain and maintain required Paxon training and client specific Operator Qualifications
  • Ensures NDE is successfully performed and recorded
  • Exercise Stop Work Authority if unsafe work conditions exist
  • Obtain and maintain required Operator Qualifications
  • Ensures correct welding specification usage
  • Perform visual inspection of weld process
