Electrical Construction Estimator

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, dynamic individual to join our team as a Utility Electrical Construction Estimator in Concord.

Read through the RESPONSIBILITIES, QUALIFICATIONS, and DUTIES CAREFULLY to obtain a thorough understanding of the position and skill level we are seeking for this position. No relocation assistance is available for this position.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The Estimator prepares cost estimates by analyzing job bids, engineering drawings, and bill of materials, by Analyzing Information, Estimating, Planning, Reporting Research Results and SAP Data Center, Strategic.

This position requires thorough knowledge of all construction activities, means and methods and to generate accurate scope and pricing based on limited information. Candidates should be self-starting and highly motivated, with the capability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The best candidates will be detailed and organized team players with demonstrated delivery in high pressure situations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or its equivalent in education and experience
  • 3 years of experience in, engineering and/or construction
  • Knowledge of FFE tool is required

 

Desired:

  • Experience using SAP
  • Experience managing construction projects
  • Utility Electrical Engineering experience
  • Superior ability to interface with and across supporting organizations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

 

Duties:

  • Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, job bids, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  • Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  • Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
  • Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
