Document Control Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are currently seeking Fulltime Document Control Specialist for natural gas utility projects

in Brea, Ca.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are seeking incredibly motivated people with working knowledge of construction in the field of Gas Utility projects. The document control specialist will complete a wide variety of data collection, data input, monitoring, maintaining and reporting for documentation associated with fast-paced construction projects. The document controls specialist will be exposed to various aspects of documentation control as well as providing direct support construction managers and construction coordinators for gas utility projects.

 

Assignments will include processing new and revised packages; tracking drawing history; routing and follow-up of Request for Information (RFI) from construction team; maintenance of master drawings and reproductions as needed; and to support project close-out activities. Assignment will also include providing administrative support to the design and construction team. Document control specialist will be working directly with different EPC contractors, utilities on the distribution, revision control of reports, invoices and all project documents.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or another related field2+ years of progressive experience in document control for engineering and or construction projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation
  • capabilities
  • Computer experience required, including but not limited to utilizing the following MS Office programs:
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Desired:

  • Experience using SAP and/or Primavera
  • Utility Construction Management experience and familiarity with closing out projects in SAP• Superior ability to interface with and across supporting organizations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

 

Duties:

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor the implementation of the Document Control system across the contracts and different stakeholders to provide a platform for consistent storage, distribution and archiving of engineering and construction-related documentation;
  • Support the project staff and maintain administrative and project office details;
  • Coordinate with the project managers or construction managers for document control activities on
  • assigned contract;
  • Ensure all documentation from the Development team is ported over to the project specific folders;
  • This includes record/file management, archiving, document control, maintaining office equipment and
  • performing various administrative tasks;
  • Provides general administrative assistance to the project team;
  • Assist as necessary on the development of Daily Reports of duties, Monthly Reports;
  • Must have experience drafting Transmittals, drafting RFIs, drafting; and all other duties and special
  • projects, as assigned by management.
