PAXON’s Disaster Recovery is always on notice to assist in times of devastation and has been providing Field and PMO support to the California’s Paradise Wildfire devastations. The Camp Fire is now recorded as the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in California history to date. It is also the deadliest wildfire in the United States. The fire started on Nov 8th, 2018 and Paxon’s QC Inspectors had boots on the ground by Nov 14th, 2018 to oversea both Gas Transmission and Distribution . Our Chief Inspectors supervise the inspectors in their charge and are responsible for the quality of work in the field and in the reports.

Some of their responsibilities included:

  • Preparation and review of safety plans
  • Implementation of medium and high risk field activities
  • Emergency response planning
  • Complete all inspection documents same day as work is performed and fill out checklists/forms as needed to report on current conditions
  • Complete quality assurance review of all Construction/as-built documents vs. what was left of the infrastructure during or post fire damage
  • Complete QC of all critical records
  • Work with appropriate stakeholders to report completeness and accuracy of the documents provided from all construction and execution teams in the field
  • Establish Checklists and uploads documents to unifier
  • Training Field personnel on an as-needed basis on understanding what to catch and what not to catch in consideration to reviewing of existing documents vs. current conditions.
