Quality Control Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY :

We are currently seeking a Full time Quality Control Specialist for utility projects in Dublin/Pleasanton.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

We are seeking motivated people with working knowledge of construction or engineering to conduct quality control services for Compliance to State and Federal requirements for utility related projects. This line of business is fast paced and requires individuals that take initiatives and are detail oriented. This position is responsible for completing post job reviews, checking the work post construction, and reviewing As-Built packages records and data for accuracy and completeness and properly close out each project. This position is a DOT (Department of Transportation) covered classification and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol screening.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Minimum:

• Bachelor of Science degree preferred, most notably in Engineering (i.e. Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Metallurgical) from an accredited college or its equivalent working experience
• Min 2 years of experience or supplemental education which establishes the ability to perform the duties. (Supplemental education is defined as coursework emphasizing science and engineering such as those listed with a mix of no less than three areas (transcripts needed for verification): Physics, Principles of Electricity, Chemistry, Statics, Surveying, Dynamics, Math — including trigonometry and basic calculus)
• Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Must possess a valid California Driver’s License

 

Desired:

• Construction or engineering experience
• Technical skills using systems and applications such as SAP and Primavera Unifier
• Access, Excel, PowerPoint skills to develop reports and do analysis

 

Duties:

• Close out estimates, complete post-construction checks, complete as-built data to properly close each project

• Responsible for project tracking, analysis and communication of project cost, scope and schedule.
• Conduct detailed As-Built verification reviews for quality and compliance to meet State and Federal requirements
• Perform field visits upon request
• Prepare daily reports to document review progress
• Attend meetings and provide feedback for continuous improvement
• Complete and Process Records with Quality and in a timely manner to decrease system risk and exposure to high priority regulatory non-compliances
• Work with subject matter experts and project team to identify, define, collect, document and communicate the data requirements
• Ensure Data Quality and Data Integrity is maintained
• Work independently as a self-starter, and within a team environment
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Identify project performance issues, analyze and address them in a timely manner
• Coordinates documentation of all data entry records to support consistency in project progress
