POSITION SUMMARY :

We are currently seeking a Director of Engineering & Pipeline Services for natural gas and electric utility projects in Northern California.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position requires thorough knowledge of all construction activities, means and methods and to ensure projects are completed in accordance with all applicable requirements, including but not limited to standards, engineering design, regulatory guidelines, permits and schedules. Candidates should be self-starting and highly motivated, with the capability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The best candidates will be detailed and organized team players with demonstrated delivery in high pressure situations.

This is a project-based position focused on providing the client with the most versatile and highly motivated inspectors and contractor safety coaching for the natural gas and oil industry. As a field inspector, you will engage with client and contractor team members in the field to facilitate safe work practices, timely and accurate paperwork, client safety culture expectations, and maintain compliance with the client’s Contractor Safety Program elements and other applicable safety regulations (e.g., Cal/OSHA).

DUTIES:

Coordinate development, testing and field trials of Pigging Products to support Pipeline Services.

A) Research and Development – Developing ideas into reality through systematic testing.
B) Project Management – Field or Desk management with more of a liking to the field management. These projects can be greenfield or brownfield remediations or upgrades. The projects for support can be pipeline cleaning for online and offline methods, installation or removal of equipment, confirmation digs site preparation for Hot Tapping/Stoppling, etc.
C) Quoting – Putting together numbers that are matched to the customer’s requirements and expectations for costing and value. Controlling margin and P/L management with reporting included in these responsibilities.
D) Business Development – Working with customers to satisfy the wants with the products we have. Giving the customer a friendly timely response using a clear approach to answering the needs presented and at the same time offering the greater suite of possibilities to increase knowledge of what we offer and how it applied to the customer’s expectations.
E) Sales – Cold Calling, and lead development based on the direction of the business model is a no brainer. Training and reinforcing the sales to customer communication as a quick reference for the sales team and lunch and learn support for technical knowledge.
F) Installation Review – Site walk-throughs and planning before, during and after on an as needed basis.
G) Troubleshooting – Open minded questions to allow the needs and expectation of the customer to be met.

Support Roles:

Required

• Five (5) years of industrial construction experience with a minimum of three (3) years inspection experience
• API 1169 Certification
• NACE CIP Level-2 Certification for inspecting industrial coatings

DUTIES:

• Ensures correct coating is applied per specifications.
• Required to perform all duties of a coating inspector as required by client
• Obtain and maintain required Paxon training and client specific Operator Qualifications
• Exercise Stop Work Authority if unsafe work conditions exist

1) Assist in the technical support and training for the region for the required business development. Use operational/field expertise to develop market and manpower for the shale play.
2) Coordinate development, testing and field trials of Pigging Products to support Pipeline Services.
3) Work with sales and the BD team to technically support their role with the customer.
4) Assist and lead in the quoting process to maintain margin control.
